Mike Pence Says His Role Model Vice President is Dick Cheney

Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence discusses his VP role model and his debate prep on “This Week.”

Let’s stop pretending what he ( Pence) is talking about. Cheney was the “grownup” in the relationship and Bush was the “spoiled kid”.

We can see from where Mike Pence is coming from. He will have to run the country and become the commander-in-chief, because, like Bush, Trump isn’t up to it. He is not completely ignorant, but stupid.

Bush, in a stupor, had to have his Chief of Staff run the war in Iraq, because he, Bush, thought it was about another Crusades.

My guess is that Pence will continue the war against Islam, while ignoring Nixon’s connection to Globalization, while Trump moves America towards authoritarianism. #fail

The F-35 Stealth Fighter May Never Be Ready for Combat

Last month the Air Force declared its variant “ready for combat,” and most press reports lauded this as a signal that the program had turned a corner. But a memo issued from the Pentagon’s top testing official, based largely upon the Air Force’s own test data, showed that the declaration was wildly premature.

It might be that the Air Force is fighting a different war than the one the Pentagon is fighting. So the rules of Orientation are different in each battlespace. A fighter jet like the one the Pentagon wants most likely positions and postures itself differently than the one the Air Force wants

I mean the F 35 has shown the ability to shoot down rockets. It is basically what makes it a 5th Generation fighter. This ability comes from the fact that the F 35 is similar to a flying saucer (except when the Pentagon attaches ordinates outside the mass of its symmetrical planes) and the Air Force has a plan to use them as such. How you fight rockets with an Airplane, you can’t, as I am sure the Pentagon knows well. How you fight rockets with an F 35 is anyone’s guess.

Of course to use them properly they must position them as close to the target (the target the F 35 wants to hit) as possible. Incoming rockets move at something like 22,000 mph, so the F 35 would need some time to do some real maneuvering to swat them out of the sky before they reach the target.

Just guessing. I could be wrong.

Thomas P.M. Barnett – Blog – What Does Russia/Putin Seek?

In my old vernacular, the “Gap-shrinking” continues, it is just more obviously and geographically divvied up, with Asian great powers (China, India, Japan) nonetheless forced into some competitive thrusts into the Center (particularly Africa) for reasons both immediate (resource access) and long term (tomorrow’s biggest cheap-labor – and consumer – pool).

I think the idea of  “Gap-shrinking” has long been proven dead. The mechanism of a “Gap” only works if the structure is the same for each position on either side of the gap, and, in most cases, it never is.

Ok, the structure of the UK, Japan, Saudi Arabia, US and many other nations in Europe, MENA,  South America, with a strong sense of a center of gravity are nearly the same. Other nations who rely more on a center of mass, such as Russia, Turkey, Iran and others, the structure of their networks are quite different. For these two different network structures, when crossing the “gap” the key doesn’t fit the lock.

So what does Putin seek? He seeks to take advantage of any position in his favor between the two networks, i.e. the distributive network of the East and the decentralized network of the west.

If he doesn’t (take advantage), the center of mass in Russia will change, and, most likely than not, Putin will be crushed in the process.

Mother Russia is hard on fathers as well as daughters.

Are Cell Phones the New Cigarette?

This is a test post via my Medium account. I really like the platform so here goes:

From my perspective, Apple should/would/probably has one and only one goal — that is to equip every single person in this world with an iOS device. But this is a lofty goal.

It is a lofty goal. The tobacco industry also had a similar goal that was nearly reached, but such goals never seem to turn out that well for human beings.

America 3.0: The Coming Reinvention of America — The American Magazine

A New Morning

We guesstimate that by 2040, America 3.0 will be in full flower. The painful transition period will be over and 400 million Americans will be living in a prosperous and free society marked by rapid and exciting technological change. We anticipate many such changes, including:

  1. Network technology will allow us to work anywhere, and with anyone, remotely. Individual- and family-scale businesses will be far more common and immensely more productive.
  2. Driverless cars and other innovations in transportation will revolutionize how we travel and where we live and work, allowing us to disperse across the continent into exurban and semi-rural living.
  3. 3D printing and related technologies will lead to an “internet of atoms” with localized and even in-home manufacturing. There will be a manufacturing renaissance in the United States and the factory floor will be everywhere.
  4. Medical technology will transform health care, with great gains in health and longevity achieved through enhanced diagnostics, custom-tailored drugs, and fewer medical emergencies.
  5. Education will be delivered through a variety of media and methods, and traditional brick and mortar schools will be far less important than they are today.

The first one:

  1. Network technology will allow us to work anywhere, and with anyone, remotely. Individual- and family-scale businesses will be far more common and immensely more productive.

Is the “Jet-packs” that we-of-the-baby-boomers were going to wear.

Work anywhere means to work no where, and it is in the workspace, of the mind but also of the body, that Orients one self in the system called the OODA loop.

While I am sure all Conservatives and Liberals believes that social media will compensate for the inconvenience of actually showing up for work, in your heart you must know that just is not so.

It is just so much hot air coming out of our backsides, without the help of jet-packs.

Is Structural Unemployment ‘Humbug’ or Are Krugman and Baker Biased?

The above chart shows the Bureau of Labor Statisticsseasonally-adjusted employment-to-population ratio for individuals 16 and over from the Current Population Survey.

The “structure” they are talking about is in the exponent employment/population ratio. When the ration gets to 2/0 the ‘structure’ changes.

Actually it just changes structurally What’s inside the structure–culture–never changes.

So the exponent just goes to 2 and then not much happens. You just have inflation. Inflation is on the “square”, an area (the area under the graph) that has grown too big in Volume (our economy) that the area pushes the volume upward on the square, as I think the graph shows.

But then you have a lot of people with this (inflation) on their minds. The reason “this” is on so many peoples minds is because of the exponent.

As TPMB says, always beware of the exponent. Or he says something like that.

Britons want to know what possessed officials targeting apostrophes

But, he added, correct use of the apostrophe isn’t simply nitpicking; the tiny punctuation mark can make an outsized difference, as in this sentence: “If you’re late for dinner, you can eat your son’s.”

“If you don’t put the apostrophe in ‘son’s,’ it’s cannibalism, isn’t it?” said Noon, the father of two English teachers. “It’s only when English is clear and precise that you can get the message across properly.”

Yes, what did possessed them, the Apostles?  but then is it also not Paul’s or the King’s, unless it says so?

The British are so polite, it doesn’t even sound like war.

Of course I guess they don’t have Fox News then either, to stand up for God and King. If no one tells you it’s war, is it war?

I wonder if this Pope is going to weigh-in on the issue? The last Pope was more interested in what was considered mundane issues in the Church. If I understand it correctly, the new Pope is a little more Conservative.

Stealth Jets Return To The Air Following Engine Snafu

“What is different is that this airplane has accelerational characteristics with a combat load that no other airplane has, because we carry a combat load internally,” Lockheed exec Tom Burbage told aviation reporter Dave Majumdar last year.

OK enough! They are building an aircraft that has the characteristics,  if not the look, of a flying saucer. It’s all in the z-axis baby!

OK!! There I’ve said it. Now can’t we, or at least shouldn’t, we just stop talking about all of this. 🙂

The Project: Final Remodel

I have begun the final remodel. I am in the Data phase, and the data almost killed me, as I added knowledge. I ended up with a fractured spine and one rib.

It was nothing that needed any medical attention except for some ibuprofen (drop that oxcondone as quick as you can), then go on muscle relaxers until you can feel that the bleeding has stopped.

I don’t know if this “cheep trick” works or not, but my pain is more real now and I don’t think that it is caused by spasmodic bleeding. I have stopped taking spasm medicine, and trying my back out.

But that is what knowledge is all about, pain, unless you handle the taking of all that data carefully.

I knew better than to use the top step of anything, much less of a 20+ years old step stool. but then I did use it as a platform to do my data-taking from.

Despite the knowledge that I had on how dangerous it is to work from a position of no leverage (top step), I kept using the top step of the stool because I didn’t want to stop and think what I really need in resources, to gather this data safety. I was neither craftsman nor a good manager.

Most people don’t understand that the real job of a millwright (my former job) is safety, and that means not only working with your hands, but ones mind.

In project class in college I was categorized as a mastermind. In one project I was the only one in class (including my team, ouch!) that wrote up the correct answer, and I think my experience as a millwright helped in that effort to categorize me.

I often wondered if anyone was interested in the answer, but nobody asked me about it, so it was hard to tell.

So, go ahead and start that narrative with data gathering, but understand that the odds of getting hurt can catch up with you as you gain knowledge, as I did when I found myself on the floor, on my back, above the edge of the stairs, and with my legs on the steps below me. Talk about a position with no leverage!

Beginning with the right “tempo” is very important in reducing those odds of getting hurt. With tempo you can find the time to become both an organizer and a millwright, a very safe position to be in.

I am just now getting in position to find were my advantage, at least in not getting hurt, will come from.
